paracetamol + ibuprofen + famotidine is a combination therapy consisting of two analgesics with distinct mechanisms of action and a gastroprotective agent. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a non-opioid analgesic and antipyretic that primarily acts within the central nervous system to provide pain relief. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing peripheral inflammation and pain. Famotidine is a histamine H2-receptor antagonist that competitively inhibits H2 receptors on gastric parietal cells, reducing gastric acid secretion. This triple combination is designed to provide potent multi-modal analgesia for conditions such as calcific tendinitis of the shoulder while minimizing the risk of NSAID-induced gastrointestinal complications, such as gastric ulcers and irritation.
