Overview

This is an oral combination drug containing three active ingredients: - Paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen): a non-opioid analgesic and antipyretic that reduces pain and fever by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. - Phenylephrine: a sympathomimetic decongestant that acts as an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist to constrict blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, reducing swelling and congestion. - Guaifenesin: an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of respiratory tract secretions, making coughs more productive. The combination is used for temporary relief of symptoms associated with colds or flu such as headache, fever, minor aches and pains, nasal congestion due to allergies or upper respiratory infections (including sinusitis), chest congestion from mucus buildup, and dry cough. It does not treat underlying infections[1][2][4].
