Overview

Paracetamol + pregabalin is a fixed-dose combination of two pharmaceutical agents used primarily for pain management, especially in settings where multimodal analgesia is desired. Paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen) acts centrally to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, providing antipyretic and mild-to-moderate analgesic effects. Pregabalin is an anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain agent that binds to the α2δ subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, reducing neurotransmitter release and thereby decreasing neuronal excitability. The combination leverages both drugs' mechanisms to provide enhanced analgesia compared to either agent alone, particularly for postoperative or neuropathic pain[9][2]. This combination does not have a unique brand name widely recognized internationally but may be compounded or co-prescribed.
