parecoxib + imrecoxib

Parecoxib + imrecoxib is a combination of two selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors, both classified as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Parecoxib is an injectable prodrug of valdecoxib, used primarily for short-term management of perioperative pain and known for its rapid onset when administered intravenously or intramuscularly. Imrecoxib is also a selective COX-2 inhibitor developed to provide anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects with potentially improved gastrointestinal safety compared to traditional NSAIDs. The combination has been studied in clinical settings such as the prevention and remission of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), where sequential administration significantly reduced SAP occurrence and was effective and well tolerated in remission[1]. Both agents act by selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis involved in inflammation and pain.
