Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PBI-1308 is a synthetic small molecule anti-inflammatory compound that functions as an immunoglobulin G (IgG) modulator. It was developed through a collaboration between Liminal BioSciences (formerly ProMetic Life Sciences) and Laboratorios Dermatologicos Darier. The compound was designed for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory skin disorders, specifically atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Preclinical studies demonstrated in vivo efficacy in animal models via both oral and topical administration. Under a 2007 agreement, Darier was responsible for the clinical development and regulatory approval in specific Latin American regions, while ProMetic retained rights to supply the active ingredient. However, development appears to have stalled, with the program currently listed as inactive in pharmaceutical databases.
