Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PC-0123 is a nebulized inhalation solution of glycopyrronium bromide, a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA), developed by Changtai Pharmaceutical (PharmaMax Corp) for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). As a muscarinic antagonist, glycopyrronium bromide works by competitively and reversibly inhibiting the M3 muscarinic receptors in the bronchial smooth muscle, which prevents acetylcholine-induced bronchoconstriction and results in sustained bronchodilation. This specific formulation is designed for administration via a nebulizer, providing a treatment alternative for COPD patients who may have difficulty using pressurized metered-dose inhalers (pMDIs) or dry powder inhalers (DPIs). PC-0123 was approved by the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in June 2023, making it the first domestic nebulized glycopyrronium bromide solution approved in China.
