Overview

This is a combination of two synthetic peptides, one targeting programmed death-ligand 2 (PD-L2) and the other targeting programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1). Both peptides are designed to bind their respective ligands and block their interaction with programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), an immune checkpoint receptor. By inhibiting the binding of PD-1 to both PD-L1 and PD-L2, these peptides aim to prevent the "off" signal that suppresses immune responses, thereby reinvigorating T cells for antitumor activity. Peptide-based inhibitors offer potential advantages over monoclonal antibodies, such as smaller molecular size, improved tumor penetration, reduced immunogenicity, and lower toxicity. This combination is being explored as an immunotherapeutic approach in cancer treatment[1][2][3].
