Pediarix + ActHIB

Pediarix + ActHIB refers to the co-administration of two distinct pediatric vaccines to provide hexavalent protection against six major childhood diseases. **Pediarix**, developed by GSK, is a pentavalent vaccine containing diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens (pertussis toxoid, filamentous hemagglutinin, and pertactin), recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen, and inactivated poliovirus (types 1, 2, and 3). **ActHIB**, developed by Sanofi Pasteur, is a conjugate vaccine consisting of the *Haemophilus influenzae* type b capsular polysaccharide (polyribosylribitol phosphate) covalently linked to a tetanus toxoid carrier protein. This combination regimen is typically administered as two separate injections during the same clinical visit at 2, 4, and 6 months of age. It is designed to induce active immunity by stimulating the production of specific antibodies against the respective bacterial toxoids, viral surface proteins, and bacterial polysaccharides, thereby preventing diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, poliomyelitis, and invasive Hib disease.
