Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy that pairs peginterferon alfa-2b, a pegylated form of recombinant interferon with immunomodulatory properties, and tenofovir alafenamide, a nucleotide analogue prodrug that inhibits HBV DNA polymerase. This regimen combines the antiviral potency of tenofovir alafenamide with the immune-enhancing effects of peginterferon to potentially achieve higher rates of HBsAg clearance and functional cure in chronic hepatitis B patients than either agent alone.
