This combination therapy is a multi-modal regimen consisting of the cytotoxic chemotherapy pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD), the PD-L1 inhibitor adebrelimab, and the beta-3 adrenergic receptor agonist mirabegron. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2/3 clinical trial by the Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University for the treatment of relapsed ovarian cancer. Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin works by intercalating DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II, while its liposomal formulation reduces cardiotoxicity and improves pharmacokinetics. Adebrelimab (SHR-1316) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that blocks the interaction between PD-1 and PD-L1, thereby enhancing the immune system's ability to target tumor cells. Mirabegron, traditionally used for overactive bladder, is included in this regimen to potentially modulate the tumor microenvironment and enhance the efficacy of the chemo-immunotherapy combination.
