Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) and pembrolizumab. PLD is a formulation of doxorubicin encapsulated in pegylated liposomes that enhances its immune modulatory effects by redirecting cellular drug uptake to phagocytic cells[5]. Pembrolizumab is a PD-1 inhibitor that blocks the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, activating T-cell-mediated immune responses against tumor cells[6]. The combination is being investigated primarily for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, with preclinical evidence suggesting PLD may synergize with immune checkpoint blockade[1].
