Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pembrolizumab + cetuximab is a combination therapy being investigated for various cancers. Pembrolizumab is a PD-1 blocking antibody that helps the immune system detect and fight cancer cells by disrupting the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands. Cetuximab is an EGFR inhibitor that targets cancerous EGFR proteins and potentially slows down the growth of cancer cells. The combination may provide enhanced efficacy compared to either agent alone, particularly in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and colorectal cancer.
