Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of pembrolizumab (an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody) with chemotherapy agents paclitaxel, carboplatin, and cisplatin. The combination is being studied for various cancer types including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), endometrial cancer, and cervical cancer. Pembrolizumab works by blocking the PD-1 pathway, enhancing the immune system's ability to detect and fight cancer cells. The chemotherapy components (paclitaxel, carboplatin, and cisplatin) work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing them or stopping them from dividing.
