Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of pembrolizumab (an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody) and temozolomide (an alkylating agent). This combination has shown improved efficacy compared to either agent alone in the treatment of advanced melanoma, particularly for acral and mucosal subtypes. The combination works by combining the immune checkpoint inhibition of pembrolizumab with the cytotoxic effects of temozolomide, potentially creating synergistic antitumor activity.
