Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pentacel + Menactra refers to the concomitant administration of two separate vaccines developed by Sanofi Pasteur. **Pentacel** is a pentavalent combination vaccine containing diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens (DTaP), inactivated poliovirus (IPV), and a *Haemophilus influenzae* type b (Hib) conjugate. It is indicated for active immunization against these five diseases in infants and children. **Menactra** is a quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) that provides protection against *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135. The co-administration of these vaccines is often evaluated in clinical settings to ensure that the immunogenicity and safety profiles of each component are maintained when given at the same visit. Both vaccines utilize toxoid and conjugate platforms to induce robust antibody responses in pediatric populations.
