P946 + TET-P is an investigational peptide-based cancer vaccine developed by the University of Virginia in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute. It consists of peptide 946, a synthetic tumor-associated antigen derived from melanoma cells, combined with a tetanus-derived helper peptide (TET-P). The vaccine is designed to stimulate the immune system, specifically eliciting a cytotoxic T-cell response against melanoma cells while the TET-P component provides T-cell help to enhance the magnitude and duration of the immune response. It has been evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for patients with high-risk or metastatic melanoma, often administered with adjuvants like QS-21 or Montanide ISA-51 to further boost immunogenicity.
