Perfluorohexyloctane + omega-3 fatty acid ethyl esters is a topical ophthalmic combination therapy developed by Novaliq for the treatment of dry eye disease (DED) and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). The formulation consists of perfluorohexyloctane, a semifluorinated alkane that acts as a surfactant to stabilize the lipid layer of the tear film and significantly reduce evaporation, and concentrated omega-3 fatty acids (ethyl esters) which provide anti-inflammatory benefits to the ocular surface. Marketed under the brand name NovaTears+Omega-3, this water-free and preservative-free solution is designed to improve the quality of the tear film and alleviate symptoms of ocular irritation.
