Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PF-07960613 is a next-generation nucleoside-modified messenger RNA (modRNA) vaccine candidate developed by Pfizer in collaboration with BioNTech for the prevention of COVID-19. As part of a broader program to develop vaccines with enhanced breadth and durability of protection against SARS-CoV-2 variants, PF-07960613 encodes a modified version of the viral spike protein. The vaccine is encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to facilitate delivery into host cells, where the mRNA is translated into the target antigen to elicit both neutralizing antibodies and T-cell-mediated immune responses. It is currently undergoing evaluation in Phase 1/2 clinical trials to determine its safety profile and immunogenicity compared to existing COVID-19 vaccines.
