Overview

**PFP@miR-RGD-LNBs** is an experimental, ultrasound-responsive liposome-nanobubble formulation developed for hepatocellular carcinoma gene therapy. It comprises a polyethylene glycol-modified liposomal shell, a perfluoropentane core, surface-adsorbed miR-199a-3p, and an RGD peptide surface ligand intended to enhance tumor-cell targeting. Low-intensity focused ultrasound promotes rapid miR-199a-3p release and increased cellular permeability; in HepG2 cells, the formulation plus ultrasound increased expression of apoptosis-associated markers including Bad, Bax, Caspase-9, and Caspase-3 and produced greater growth inhibition than comparator conditions.
