Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Pfs25-IMX313 + Matrix-M1** is a combination vaccine candidate for malaria prevention. It consists of the recombinant protein-nanoparticle vaccine Pfs25-IMX313 (based on the *Plasmodium falciparum* sexual-stage antigen Pfs25 fused to the IMX313 oligomerization domain) and the saponin-based adjuvant Matrix-M1. The primary mechanism of action is to induce an immune response that blocks transmission of malaria parasites from humans to mosquitoes, thereby reducing disease spread. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly in multiple doses and has been evaluated primarily for safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults[5][7][9].
