PGL2001 + norethisterone

PGL2001 + norethisterone is a combination therapy under investigation for the treatment of endometriosis. PGL2001 (also known as E2MATE or estradiol sulfamate) is a steroid sulfatase inhibitor that reduces local estrogen production by inhibiting the conversion of estrogen sulfates to active estrogens in tissues. Norethisterone (also called norethindrone or marketed as NETA/norethindrone acetate) is a synthetic progestin that suppresses ovarian estrogen production and exerts progestogenic effects on the endometrium. The combination aims to synergistically reduce both systemic and local estrogen activity, thereby alleviating symptoms associated with endometriosis. Clinical studies have shown that this combination leads to significant inhibition of steroid sulfatase activity in the endometrium[1][2][3][4].
