Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Phytus is a herbal combination therapy developed by PharmEvo Pvt Ltd, containing extracts of Ivy (*Hedera helix*), Thyme (*Thymus vulgaris*), and Cisti (*Cistus incanus*). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute cough associated with the common cold. The mechanism of action involves the synergistic effects of its botanical components: Ivy acts as an expectorant and secretolytic by reducing mucus viscosity; Thyme provides antispasmodic and antimicrobial properties; and Cisti (Rock Rose) is known for its antiviral and antioxidant activities. A Phase 4 clinical trial (PEACe) has been conducted to evaluate its efficacy in managing acute cough symptoms in adult populations.
