Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zoxicam Plus is a combination pharmaceutical product developed by Zakfas Pharmaceutical, primarily used for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It combines piroxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam class, with paracetamol (acetaminophen), a non-opioid analgesic. Piroxicam acts by non-selectively inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, which are essential for the biosynthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation. Paracetamol provides complementary pain relief and antipyretic effects, likely through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Zoxicam Plus is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of painful inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute musculoskeletal disorders.
