Drug intelligence / Profile preview
C2207 + JW0104 is a triple combination therapy being developed by JW Pharmaceutical for the management of patients with concurrent dyslipidemia and hypertension. The combination consists of JW0104, which is a fixed-dose combination of pitavastatin (an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor) and ezetimibe (a cholesterol absorption inhibitor), and C2207, which is valsartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker). Pitavastatin works by inhibiting hepatic cholesterol synthesis, while ezetimibe reduces the absorption of biliary and dietary cholesterol in the small intestine. Valsartan manages hypertension by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, leading to vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion. This multi-mechanism approach aims to simplify treatment regimens and improve patient compliance in managing cardiovascular risk factors.
