Overview

This is a combination of a placebo and corifollitropin alfa. Corifollitropin alfa is a long-acting recombinant fusion protein analog of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), used primarily for controlled ovarian stimulation in women undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures such as in vitro fertilization. It acts as an FSH receptor agonist, stimulating the development of multiple ovarian follicles over a sustained period with a single injection, thereby reducing the need for daily FSH injections. In adolescent males with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, it is used in combination with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) to stimulate testicular growth and spermatogenesis. The placebo component has no pharmacological activity and serves as an inactive comparator or control in clinical trials.
