Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a placebo control used in clinical trials conducted by Galderma R&D for the treatment of actinic keratosis. It consists of a vehicle cream (a cream formulation without the active ingredient methyl aminolevulinate) applied topically to lesions, followed by exposure to a conventional red light source (c-PDT), such as the Aktilite CL128 lamp. This control arm allows researchers to differentiate the therapeutic effects of the active photosensitizer from the effects of the cream base and the light treatment itself in Phase 3 comparative studies.
