This investigational cell therapy consists of cryopreserved human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hP-MSCs) developed by the Institute of Cell Therapy in Kyiv, Ukraine. It is specifically being evaluated for the treatment of stage II-III knee osteoarthritis. The therapy involves the intra-articular injection of allogeneic cells that possess multipotent properties, allowing them to differentiate into chondrocytes, osteoblasts, and adipocytes. These cells are intended to promote cartilage regeneration and provide immune-suppressive and anti-inflammatory effects within the joint. In clinical trials (NCT04453111), the product is administered in a series of three injections at four-week intervals, often in conjunction with hyaluronic acid to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
