Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Platelet-rich plasma** is a heterogeneous, platelet-enriched plasma preparation used as a local biologic intervention rather than a defined single-molecule drug. In the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University study, ultrasound-guided platelet-rich plasma nerve block is being evaluated in combination with pregabalin and amitriptyline for intractable postherpetic neuralgia. The intended therapeutic rationale is local delivery of platelet-derived bioactive proteins and growth factors that may modulate neuroinflammation and support peripheral nerve repair; however, the preparation has no single defined active constituent or validated single molecular target.
