Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PMN311 is an investigational therapeutic vaccine being developed by ProMIS Neurosciences for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The vaccine consists of a computationally-derived conformational B-cell epitope of amyloid-beta oligomers (AβO) (specifically targeting the misfolded AβO epitope, such as peptide 301, which is also targeted by the monoclonal antibody PMN310) conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) as a carrier protein. KLH provides necessary T-cell help to stimulate a robust and sustained humoral immune response without inducing a pro-inflammatory T-cell response against amyloid-beta, thereby minimizing the risk of meningoencephalitis and amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA-E) associated with plaque-binding antibodies.
