Pneumococcal polysaccharide serotype 33F conjugate vaccine (CRM197) adsorbed on aluminium phosphate is an investigational monovalent vaccine candidate developed by the Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM). It is designed to provide targeted protection against *Streptococcus pneumoniae* serotype 33F, which is a significant cause of invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) and is often included in expanded-valency conjugate vaccines. The vaccine utilizes the CRM197 carrier protein—a non-toxic recombinant mutant of the diphtheria toxin—to convert the T-cell independent capsular polysaccharide into a T-cell dependent antigen. This conjugation enhances immunogenicity and induces immunological memory, particularly in infants and young children. The formulation is adsorbed onto an aluminium phosphate adjuvant to further stimulate the innate and adaptive immune responses following intramuscular administration.
