Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Su Fu'ning Lotion (SFN) is a proprietary formulation of **polihexanide** (polyhexamethylene biguanide; PHMB), a cationic polymer traditionally used as an antiseptic and disinfectant, which has been investigated as a novel intravesical perfusate for the treatment of bladder cancer. Developed primarily in China, SFN is intended for use as an adjuvant therapy following surgical resection (such as TURBT) to eliminate residual malignant cells and reduce the high rate of tumor recurrence. PHMB exerts its antineoplastic effects by disrupting cell membranes, binding to DNA, and inducing apoptosis in bladder cancer cells. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that SFN significantly inhibits the proliferation of bladder cancer cell lines (e.g., T24, BTT, BIU-87) and prolongs survival in animal models, showing efficacy comparable or superior to conventional chemotherapeutic agents like mitomycin C and pirarubicin.
