**Polihexanide + propamidine** is a combination of two small molecule antiseptics used topically in ophthalmology, primarily for the treatment of **Acanthamoeba keratitis**, a rare, sight-threatening corneal infection. Polihexanide (also called polyhexamethyl biguanide, PHMB) is a biguanide antiseptic that disrupts cytoplasmic membranes and damages genetic material of Acanthamoeba, leading to cell death.
