Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Poly-L-lactic acid + sodium hyaluronate is an injectable combination product used primarily for facial rejuvenation and soft tissue augmentation. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a synthetic, biocompatible, biodegradable polymer that acts as a collagen biostimulator. After injection, PLLA microparticles induce a controlled subclinical inflammatory response that stimulates fibroblasts to produce new type I collagen over several months, resulting in gradual volume restoration and improvement of skin structure. Sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid or HA) is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan with strong hydrophilic properties; it provides immediate volumization by attracting water into the extracellular matrix of the dermis, improving hydration and skin texture. The combination leverages the complementary mechanisms of both agents—HA offers instant filling effects while PLLA induces long-term neocollagenesis for sustained results. This hybrid approach aims to achieve natural-looking facial volume restoration with improved skin quality and reduced risk of overtreatment or excessive fibrosis compared to PLLA alone[2][4][5][8]. The product can be used for deep wrinkles, laxity correction, significant tissue defects, or general facial rejuvenation.
