Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Blink Gel Tears is an over-the-counter lubricating eye drop formulation designed to provide relief for moderate to severe dry eye symptoms. The primary active ingredient is polyethylene glycol 400 (0.25%), which acts as a lubricant and humectant to supplement the natural tear film and reduce ocular surface desiccation. A distinguishing feature of the Blink Gel Tears formulation is the inclusion of sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), which enhances the viscosity and mucoadhesive properties of the drop, allowing it to stay on the ocular surface longer than standard artificial tears. It also utilizes the OcuPure preservative system, which dissipates upon contact with light, making it gentler on the eyes than traditional preservatives like benzalkonium chloride. It is indicated for the temporary relief of burning, irritation, and discomfort due to dryness of the eye or exposure to wind or sun.
