Polymerized house dust mite + grass pollen allergen extract is a subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy (SCIT) product developed by Inmunotek, S.L. It is a combination allergoid vaccine containing house dust mite (HDM) extracts—specifically *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *D. farinae*—and grass pollen extracts. These extracts are chemically modified through glutaraldehyde cross-linking (polymerization), which reduces their IgE-binding capacity (improving safety) while preserving their ability to induce an immune response. This process also stabilizes the mixture by significantly reducing the proteolytic activity of HDM allergens, preventing the degradation of grass pollen allergens. The therapy works by inducing immune tolerance, characterized by the production of allergen-specific IgG antibodies, T-cell proliferation, and the secretion of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, and mild-to-moderate asthma in patients polysensitized to both house dust mites and grass pollen.
