Drug intelligence / Profile preview
J022X (Ismigen) is a polyvalent mechanical bacterial lysate (PMBL) developed for the prevention and treatment of recurrent respiratory tract infections (RRTIs). It is produced by the mechanical lysis of eight common respiratory pathogens, including *Streptococcus pneumoniae*, *Haemophilus influenzae*, and *Staphylococcus aureus*. Unlike chemical lysis, mechanical lysis preserves the structure of bacterial antigens, potentially enhancing immunogenicity. The drug acts as an immunostimulant, activating both innate and adaptive immune responses, including the stimulation of Toll-like receptors (TLRs), increasing secretory IgA levels, and modulating T-lymphocyte activity. It is typically administered sublingually to target the mucosal immune system of the Waldeyer's ring.
