Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Povidone-iodine + lidocaine hydrochloride + bupivacaine hydrochloride + triamcinolone is a multi-component drug kit, marketed under brand names such as P-CARE K80MX and P-CARE K40MX, designed for local or regional anesthesia and analgesia. The kit integrates two amide-type local anesthetics, lidocaine hydrochloride and bupivacaine hydrochloride, which provide rapid and prolonged numbing by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in neuronal membranes. It also includes triamcinolone acetonide, a synthetic corticosteroid that exerts anti-inflammatory effects through glucocorticoid receptor activation, and povidone-iodine, a broad-spectrum antiseptic used for skin preparation. These kits are primarily utilized in clinical settings for joint injections, trigger point injections, and tunnel injections. It is important to note that these specific combination kits are often classified as unapproved drug products by the FDA.
