Overview

Pramana Pharmaceuticals is developing a novel small-molecule Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonist as part of its "next-generation" GLP-1 pipeline. Unlike traditional peptide-based GLP-1 therapies that require injection, this asset is a small molecule designed for oral potential and targeted cardiometabolic and hepatic health. The program is currently in the IND-enabling stage for a cluster of indications including pancreatitis, cholestasis, primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), and chronic kidney disease (CKD). By activating the GLP-1 receptor, the drug aims to leverage the metabolic and anti-inflammatory effects of GLP-1 signaling to treat renal and hepatic disorders.
