Drug intelligence / Profile preview
P2B001 (F2B22A + DL001Z) is a proprietary fixed-dose combination of low-dose, sustained-release formulations of pramipexole and rasagiline. Developed by Pharma Two B, it is designed for the treatment of early-stage Parkinson's disease. The rationale behind the combination is to provide synergistic clinical benefit by simultaneously stimulating dopamine receptors and inhibiting the breakdown of dopamine, while minimizing the side effects associated with higher doses of the individual components, such as daytime somnolence. The Phase 3 ADAPT-PD trial demonstrated that P2B001 was superior to its individual components and comparable in efficacy to marketed higher-dose pramipexole ER, but with significantly less daytime sleepiness.
