pravastatin + rosuvastatin

A combination of two HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins) that work in the liver to prevent cholesterol from forming, thereby reducing the amount of cholesterol circulating in the blood. This combination is not a standard formulation available as a single pill but rather represents concurrent use of two separate statin medications. Using pravastatin together with rosuvastatin may increase the risk of nerve damage, myopathy, and rhabdomyolysis, which are potential side effects of both medications. Both drugs belong to the statin class and are primarily used to lower lipid levels, including lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides, and raising HDL (good) cholesterol, to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease including myocardial infarction and stroke. They are considered standard practice following cardiovascular events and for people with moderate to high risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
