This is a combination immunosuppressive therapy consisting of prednisolone (a corticosteroid), azathioprine (an immunosuppressant), and mycophenolate mofetil (an immunosuppressant). The combination is used primarily for treating autoimmune conditions such as lupus nephritis and other inflammatory disorders. ## Mechanism of Action **Prednisolone**: A synthetic corticosteroid that binds to the glucocorticoid receptor, inhibiting pro-inflammatory signals and promoting anti-inflammatory signals. It suppresses inflammation by inhibiting key transcription factors like NF-κB and AP-1, reducing leukocyte migration to inflammation sites, and promoting anti-inflammatory gene expression. **Azathioprine**: An immunosuppressant that interferes with DNA synthesis and inhibits proliferation of rapidly dividing cells, particularly affecting T and B lymphocytes. **Mycophenolate Mofetil**: An immunosuppressant that inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, an enzyme critical for purine synthesis in lymphocytes, thereby suppressing T and B cell proliferation.
