Prednisolone + exenatide is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents with distinct mechanisms of action. Prednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid used for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties, while exenatide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Prednisolone acts by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, modulating gene expression to suppress inflammation and immune responses[2]. Exenatide mimics incretin hormones, enhancing glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppressing inappropriate glucagon release, and slowing gastric emptying[6][1]. This combination has been studied experimentally; research suggests that exenatide may counteract prednisolone-induced glucose intolerance by improving insulin secretion and reducing hyperglucagonemia[5]. However, this combination does not represent an approved or marketed fixed-dose product as of now.
