Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of three corticosteroid medications (prednisolone, prednisone, and methylprednisolone) that reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system. They work by modifying glucocorticoid receptors and suppressing mediators of inflammation. Methylprednisolone is slightly more potent than prednisone, with methylprednisolone being five times as potent as cortisol, while prednisone is four times as potent. These medications are used to treat various inflammatory and autoimmune conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, allergic reactions, asthma, and other disorders.
