Overview
Prednisone + cyclophosphamide is a combination therapy consisting of two drugs frequently used together in the treatment of various immune-mediated diseases and cancers. Prednisone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid that exerts anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by modulating gene expression, reducing cytokine production, and inhibiting leukocyte infiltration. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication and transcription, leading to cell death, particularly in rapidly dividing cells such as malignant or immune cells. This combination has demonstrated efficacy in conditions like relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma[2], membranous nephropathy[4], and other autoimmune disorders. The regimen may be administered orally or intravenously depending on indication and patient status.
