pregabalin + acetaminophen

NVK-009 is an intravenous (IV) fixed-dose combination of pregabalin and acetaminophen (paracetamol) developed by Nevakar, Inc. for the management of postoperative pain. This product is designed as a component of multimodal analgesia, which utilizes multiple pain-relief mechanisms to improve efficacy and reduce the requirement for opioids in the acute surgical setting. Pregabalin is a gabapentinoid that binds to the alpha-2-delta-1 subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, leading to a reduction in the release of several excitatory neurotransmitters such as glutamate, substance P, and norepinephrine. Acetaminophen is a non-opioid analgesic and antipyretic that primarily acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the brain through the modulation of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes. The IV formulation of NVK-009 allows for rapid onset of action, which is critical for managing acute pain following surgical procedures.
