Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of the alpha-2-delta ligand pregabalin and vitamin B complex (comprising thiamine, pyridoxine, and cyanocobalamin) utilized by Laboratorios Silanes. Pregabalin acts by binding to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, which reduces the influx of calcium into nerve terminals and subsequently inhibits the release of excitatory neurotransmitters involved in pain signaling. The vitamin B complex components are included for their neurotropic properties, which support nerve regeneration and provide additional analgesic benefits in neuropathic conditions. This specific combination is currently being evaluated in a Phase III clinical trial (NCT06516094) as a comparator arm to a triple fixed-dose combination (celecoxib/pregabalin/vitamin B) for the management of chronic low back pain with a mixed neuropathic and nociceptive component.
