In the context of clinical research at Universidad El Bosque, Bogotá, Prime & Bond NT was investigated as a non-invasive treatment for proximal dental caries. By sealing the surface of early carious lesions, the material acts as a physical barrier that prevents the diffusion of fermentable carbohydrates to the bacteria within the lesion and blocks the egress of acidic metabolic byproducts, thereby arresting the progression of the decay.
