Overview

Probiotics-Bio-plus is a multi-strain probiotic formulation specifically evaluated in clinical research at Meir Medical Center for the prevention of major complications in patients with liver cirrhosis. The formulation consists of four bacterial strains: *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Lactobacillus bulgaricus*, *Bifidobacterium lactis*, and *Streptococcus thermophilus*. Its mechanism of action centers on the modulation of the gut-liver axis; by altering the intestinal microflora, it aims to reduce the production and absorption of gut-derived toxins such as ammonia and decrease bacterial translocation across the intestinal wall.
