Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination anesthetic approach using propofol (an intravenous general anesthetic) and isoflurane (an inhaled general anesthetic) concurrently. This combination allows for reduced doses of each individual agent while maintaining effective anesthesia. The combination has been studied for its effects on endoplasmic reticulum stress and cognitive function, with research suggesting it may better protect cognitive function than either agent alone at higher doses in certain conditions.
