This is a combination of three intravenous drugs—propofol, rocuronium, and fentanyl—commonly used together for the induction of general anesthesia. Propofol is a sedative-hypnotic agent that induces loss of consciousness by potentiating gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) activity at GABA-A receptors. Rocuronium is a non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent that facilitates muscle relaxation and endotracheal intubation by competitively inhibiting acetylcholine at nicotinic receptors on the motor endplate. Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid analgesic that acts primarily as an agonist at mu-opioid receptors to provide analgesia and blunt sympathetic responses to airway manipulation. This drug combination provides rapid onset of unconsciousness, muscle relaxation for intubation, and pain control during surgical procedures[2][3][6].
